The 3 Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a university-wide competition founded by the University of Queensland for graduate students in which participants present their research and its wider impact in 3 minutes or less to a panel of non-specialist judges. The challenge is to present complex research in an engaging, accessible, and compelling way, using only one static slide. The competition also enables students to showcase their research to a wider multidisciplinary audience, within the university and to the broader public. More information can be found here.
Competition was held by Faculty of Graduate studies in Lakehead University on 7th of March, 2017. It was a tight competition, but in the end Physics Master’s student Pavlo Karasyuk under the supervision of Dr. Alla Reznik took the first place with his presentation “Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) Detector for Applications in Advanced Computed Tomography”. Pavlo Karasyuk will go on to represent the Lakehead University at Provincial level 3MT competition to be held at University of Waterloo on April 12th, 2017.
Entire Reznik research group congratulates the participant and wishes him good luck!
